I have always been fascinated by the way nature balances the complexities of life. A dynamic process with so many interdependent relationships resulting in true symbioses.

Contemplating this I find much inspiration which drives me to achieve a balance between my creative intentions and the media I work with. Throughout this process my intention is to capture and embody my creative expression through the interplay of relationships.

In my fine art, the composition of ink placement and negative space is an act of balancing presence and absence, light and shade. My aim is to explore the interaction of polarities and how they come together to form a unified whole.

As a ceramicist I follow a process of inquiry, blending opposites of negative space and positive volume, exploring how this communicates the harmony of tensions. It is through direct touch that a deeper connection can be formed which facilities an alchemical process in the space between thought and form.
