I have always been fascinated with the way nature balances the complexities of life. A dynamic process with so many interdependent relationships and true symbiosis.

Contemplating this I find so much inspiration. I strive to achieve a balance between my creative intentions and the media I work with. Throughout this symbiotic process my intention is to capture and embody my creative expression.

In my fine art, the composition of ink placement and negative space is the act of balancing presence and absence, light and shade. Here we find the interplay of polarities coming together to form a unified whole.

When I sculpt, the this balance is of a similar nature, my intention is to achieve a unity of opposites with negative space and positive volume in order to communicate the harmony of tensions.
